Kenneth Thompson / Artist Bio

Sup family, My name is Kenneth Thompson and I am an 18 year old graphic designer / digital artist who is gaining knowledge and skill with painting and illustration. I was born and raised in the city of Syracuse and I was exposed to the art world at a very young age!

You may wonder “Kenny what does art mean to you?” Well art doesn’t have just one definition but I can tell you this. Art is a form of expression no matter what it is and that expression includes subjective experiences and emotions.

My goal for the future is to own a successful clothing brand that sells more than just clothes. I’m talking posters, skateboard decks, decals for cars and motorcycles. My love for cars also plays a part as I sometimes use those cars to create my designs.

I want to thank the Youth Public Art Program for not only giving me the opportunity to learn something but to evolve. I couldn’t have done it without my family and my mentor Rosario Freeman. I appreciate you for bringing me on to help paint this masterpiece.

This program provided a unique opportunity for youths to explore their interests in public art and to connect with practicing artists! Each selected youth worked one on one with the Artist to define tasks related to their mural.
