CDBG-CV3 funds Public Hearing
Under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) dated March 27, 2020, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded additional funds on September 11, 2020 to the City of Syracuse $1,676,401 in Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV3) funds to address needs caused by the novel COVID-19 pandemic.
On behalf of the Commissioner of Neighborhood and Business Development (NBD), the city of Syracuse, Department of Neighborhood and Business Development (NBD) has released the Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV3) Aid Relief Plan to our website here. The funding cycle for CDBG-CV3 funded agencies will be fiscal year 2021-2022. NBD is required by HUD to conduct a 5-day comment period and public hearing. The comment period for CDBG-CV funds will begin on December 28, 2020 and end on January 5, 2021, which will allow the public to make comments or suggestions regarding COVID-19 related needs and use of these funds.

The public hearing is being conducted in accordance with NYS Executive Order No. 202.15. The public does not have a right to attend this public hearing in person. The public may view/listen to this hearing via a live stream accessible by internet and telephone audio. Participation is available through an access code. The URL for the live stream and code will be posted on the City of Syracuse website at least 72-hours before the hearing. The public may comment in writing by emailing nbd@ci.syracuse.ny.us .Comments will be appended to the hearing record.
